We are Wattmore — a duo grounded in alt-country and old-school rock, shaped by a deep respect for honest songwriting and enduring melodies. The music we’re drawn to has always been raw, unvarnished, and full of soul. It does not depend on polish or digital perfection. It stands on story, character, and conviction.

Our songs are written from observation and experience — the people we’ve known, the places we’ve stood, the moments that refuse to fade. We believe music should carry weight. It should say something. It should last. We are not interested in chasing trends. We are committed to writing songs that feel lived-in and true.

Working alongside some of Australia’s most respected artists and songwriters, including Allan Caswell, Bob Spencer, and Lindsay Waddington, has only strengthened that commitment. Their influence and guidance reinforce the standard we hold ourselves to: craft first, authenticity always.

Wattmore is about preserving the spirit of the music that shaped us, while adding our own voice to it. Songs with heart. Songs with grit. Songs that stay with you.

Wattmore’s latest track, ‘Romantic Side,’ is a cheeky, heartfelt throwback to love before the apps. Raw, unapologetic, and laced with late-night charm, it’s an anthem for anyone who’s ever found sparks flying over jukebox songs and shared bourbon shots. With gritty humour and a touch of sincerity, this tune reminds us that real connection can’t be swiped – it’s stumbled into, drunk and hopeful, in the back corner of a dimly lit bar.

Old-school romance never sounded so good.

We’re Wattmore, a young duo finding our way in the music world. Our roots run deep in alt-country and old-school rock. We’ve always been drawn to music that’s raw, real, and full of soul: the kind that doesn’t rely on slick production or digital perfection, but honest songwriting and the stories we see around us.

The songs we write come from life. From the things we notice, the people we meet, the moments that stick. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel, but we are trying to bring back something that feels a bit lost: music that means something. Music that tells a story. That’s what we’re chasing.

Even though we’re just getting started, we’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredible legends of Australian music: Allan Caswell, Bob Spencer, and Lindsay Waddington, to name a few. It’s been humbling, inspiring, and it reminds us why we do this. We’re here to make original, authentic music – something that feels like a reboot of the soundtrack of our lives.

Wattmore is a Brisbane-based duo formed by brothers Aiden and Kai. Known for their distinctive blend of alt-country, punk, and Americana, the duo draws on influences from Oasis to Waylon Jennings. Their music is raw, honest, and fearless, embodying the spirit of true musical pioneers.

Indie Dock Music

“Brisbane’s genre-defying brothers Wattmore arrive like a bottle of unmarked bourbon at a champagne soirée. Their lead single “Romantic Side” from their upcoming project is a glorious contradiction – a nostalgia-soaked lament for love before the digital apocalypse, delivered with all the subtlety of a barroom brawl.”

The Other Side

“Discovering a raw passion for music early on, Australia-based brothers Aiden and Kai Boak knew what they wanted to do and by gum, they’re taking the music scene by storm. With an eclectic, alternative and somewhat eccentric sound, the duo pushes the borders of punk, country and Americana (to name a few genres) to experimental limits and then step over the line.”

Countrytown

“Brisbane cowpunk duo Wattmore bring the fast-paced energy to their new single, Romantic Side. Bouncing around genres such as country, punk, and Americana, the pair duel with banjo playing and their strong melodies, Wattmore have once again proved why they’ve built such an impressive reputation in country, rock, and Americana circles.”
